Director - HVAC - Columbia University - New York

Job description
Columbia University is seeking an experienced Director of HVAC (Distributed Systems) for our Manhattanville Operations Department. He/she is responsible for the operation and maintenance HVAC, the preventive maintenance group, environmental controls, and plumbers on the state-of- the-art Manhattanville campus, which will total approximately 7 million square feet. He/she oversees the activities of contractors and suppliers, monitors contracts for compliance and controls costs, monitors general expenditure of the units, and performs quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards. He/she will work closely with the Director of the District Energy Systems and the Director of Electrical Systems to provide a highly reliable environment and seamless service to the clients, as well as supporting other departments, events, and activities as required. He/she is responsible for all the engineering control systems—including BMS, SCADA, lighting, and shade control systems. The position is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the all the ancillary equipment and systems serving the Manhattanville campus.


Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related fields required. Minimum of 7–9 years of related experience required.
