RISK MANAGEMENT ADVISORY SERVICES

M&A and Restructuring Due Diligence
From any side of the table, having a thorough understanding of the insurance and risk transfer landscape minimizes costly surprises that can often jeopardize an otherwise successful transaction. In conjunction with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group, we:

Analyze adequacy of existing coverage
Analyze historical loss data and legacy claims issues
Identify unfunded liabilities or past claims
Advise on unique insurance or risk management issues specific to new operations, locations, or services
Recommend comprehensive and cost effective risk transfer techniques and products based on our in-depth review
Assist in recapturing outstanding legacy risk transfer dollars, including retrospective programs and secured retentions

Risk and Insurance Management Audits

Determine optimum risk retention levels and adequacy of limits provided
Analyze carrier quality, broker services, claims handling, captive management including commission levels and expenses
Review of current coverage forms and terms
Identify opportunities to customize or expand coverage and expose gaps due to conflicted or inconsistent terms
Evaluate all rates and premiums in relation to current market conditions to determine potential cost savings
Review of all related contractual exposures, including leases and indemnification language
Provide a comprehensive report with findings, conclusions and recommendations

Outsourced Risk Management Services

Assist with broker selection, market assignments and prepare comprehensive bid specifications
Review of broker proposals, quoted policy terms and rates for accuracy, consistency and completeness
Provide recommendations for comprehensive and cost effective programs
Conduct expert and independent review of costs and benefits of proposed programs
Establish a knowledge base for effective negotiations of coverage terms and premiums
Consistent and independent review of risk transfer programs as part of the annual renewal process

Desired Skills and Experience
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-day management of the Energy Risk Management focus within A&M IRAS and development of the Southwest US Territory for IRAS.
Regular contact and cooperation with CEO, CFO, and Treasurer level client executives, Risk Managers, brokers, underwriters, and A&M client partners
Research coverage products, competitive pricing, market conditions, and market leading brokerage partners to recommend best solutions
Present recommendations to clients, and build implementation plans for execution of program to achieve results
Work with brokers to effectively market client program, build coverage requirements, review quotes, and identify coverage gaps or issues
The candidate will participate in meetings with target company management and with client personnel, and the will serve as the primary point of contact for client personnel with respect to day-to-day execution matters. Between transactions, the candidate will assist with building / maintaining client relationships.
Generation of business leads and opportunities through personal and business contacts. Ability to present our value proposition and obtain engagements for services.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with MBA, JD, or advanced education preferred
CPCU, CIC, ARM, or other professional insurance designations desirable
Experience in professional consultative environment working with C-level clients
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the energy risk management and consulting arena. Will have significant experience in risk mitigation and transfer common to energy businesses. Will have contacts and knowledge of the energy insurance marketplace and key players.
The successful candidate will be driven to success, a self-starter, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. The individual will be insightful, decisive, a critical thinker. Further, the individual will be able to work well on teams however will possess the knowledge and maturity to work with our clients independently. Specific characteristics include:
