Director - Global Environmental Services - Sonoco - Hartsville

Job description
Sonoco is looking for a Director of Global Environmental Services that will manage the environmental compliance and environmental risk issues for the global corporation. This position is located in Hartsville, SC at our Global Corporate Headquarters.

Primary Responsibilities:
Have programs in place to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations for all company facilities
Manage staff of 8+ environmental professionals in various locations globally
Oversee and manage environmental capital projects globally
Manage environmental due diligence on acquisitions and divestitures
Keep management apprised of upcoming regulations that could impact any of the operating facilities
Manage environmental risk and compliance in a cost effective manner
Provide environmental technical assistance to all company facilities

Required Skills:
Must be knowledgeable of industrial environmental regulations for wastewater, solid waste and air related issues
Must be effective in communicating with company management as well as workers on the floor
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Required Experience:

Engineering degree, prefer advanced engineering degree and / or MBA
15+ years of managing industrial environmental issues
5+ years of managing an environmental staff including environmental engineers and/or scientists
Years Of Experience: 10+ to 15 Years
Level of Education: 4 Year Degree
