Director - FP&A - Lookout - San Francisco
Job description
What are we looking for?
The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team partners with business leaders throughout Lookout to drive financial and strategic decisions. We provide analysis and conduct financial reviews of a wide range of business issues and manage financial processes such as planning, forecasting, reporting and tracking performance.
In this role you will be responsible for providing visibility into Lookout’s financial performance, managing projects and delivering insight. You will work with cross functional teams and have a large impact on the company trajectory.
You will be deeply involved with high-profile strategic and operational initiatives, offering opportunities to interact with senior management; deliver business analytics and insights; make recommendations for short and long term decisions; and drive significant contributions. You will gain valuable experience in the position, which offers significant responsibility and interaction with senior management as well as considerable opportunity to add innovative ideas to a growing Finance organization.
What will you do?
Lead management reporting, including KPI’s, dashboards, business trends and performance vs plan in order to deliver weekly financial updates, monthly performance analyses and quarterly rolling forecast
Analyze financial planning tools and processes; make recommendations for improvement, utilizing your prior FP&A experience, providing thought leadership as to best practices for planning and reporting processes within the function
Support the monthly accounting close process with detailed monthly financial analyses
Lead preparation of the semi-annual business plan and analysis and maintain the three-year strategic financial plan and business model
Interpret and present key findings directly to Executive members, including the CFO and direct engagement with senior leadership across multiple functions
Partner with functional business teams to provide value-added business insight and decision support and serve as a true financial resource to internal business partners
Create analyses, commentary and presentation materials for Board and leadership meetings
Review partner and customer contracts as it relates to reporting process and key financial terms
Provide active leadership to the FP& A organization, developing and championing change processes, people and systems
Desired Skills and Experience
What do you need?
Bachelor’s degree; Finance or Accounting preferred, MBA a plus
10-15 years professional experience with at least 5 years FP&A experience at a startup or large technology company; Investment banking and/or management consulting experience a plus
Superior analytical and modeling skills
True mastery of handling most complex analytics including business issues that are beyond finance
Superior problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management
Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality of output
Able to perform deep dives into the underlying assumptions and quantitative details of all analyses, as well as step back and make recommendations based on the insights you develop
Ability to craft high quality presentations that distill complicated financial analysis into a clear simple story that resonates with a non-financial audience
Experience leading a Financial Planning & Analysis team and have a thorough understanding of financial accounting and management reporting
