Director - Lab - Mercy - Oklahoma

Job description
The Regional Laboratory Director (RLD) has , overall operational responsibility of all laboratories in specified geographic region. The RLD ensures that there is effective communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external. This position leads and participates in laboratory planning strategies and ensures that local laboratory operations have capacity and support growth initiatives. Assures quality and compliance with applicable regulations and accrediting agencies, identifies and implements strategies for improvement as necessary.
Works with local lab leaders to support laboratory standardization initiatives. Ensures productivity measures are met with appropriate staffing models based on volume and adherence to fiscal and budgetary requirements. The RLD reports to the Regional Vice President of Laboratory Services and is an effective liaison between Local, Ministry, Clinic, Physician and Mercy Health Lab leadership. Performs duties and responsibilities ina manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Education: BS or BA degree
Experience: Ten or more years technical experience in a clinical laboratory with 5 years progressive supervisory experience.
Certifications: MT ASCP or equivalent
Other: Excellent communication skills. Strong operational skills and people skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Masters degree
