About The Position
As the Director of Finance and Administration, you will provide expert financial leadership and oversight to support WBR’s continued growth. You will take a hands-on approach to lead the preparation, consolidation, and audit of timely, accurate, and useful financial statements that will be used both internally and externally. You stay close to the details, but you can also put them in context and explain the important ones clearly to a wide range of people.
You will:
Lead the U.S. Accounting team including the hiring of a new Staff Accountant and management of the current Accounting and Development Assistant. Define roles and responsibilities and manage the team to ensure efficient operations and top-notch internal controls.
Rebuild the global financial statement consolidation process and lead its implementation
Present and analyze consolidated financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statement results; oversee all financial, project/program accounting.
Research more robust alternatives to the current QuickBooks platform. Lead the implementation of the new accounting system
Lead the execution of annual audit activities and the consolidation of annual financial statements in coordination with field offices. Liaise with external auditors, tax preparers and audit committee on a regular basis
Provide guidance on complex tax and compliance issues and contribute to strategy discussions
Manage all IRS and other statutory and foreign filings for WBR’s US Operating Group, which also includes Germany and UK
Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting in coordination with field offices
Develop, update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices
Lead the development, tracking and presentation of annual budgets by coordinating with domestic and international offices.
Monitor and ensure compliance with governance requirements of all global entities.
Desired Skills and Experience
You bring:
10+ years of accounting experience with in-depth knowledge of and demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
Experience in a global entity: strong knowledge of IFRS, international tax, and regular consolidation of subsidiary financial statements including international subsidiaries.
A pro-active and hands-on approach to anticipate and solve technical, managerial and operational problems.
A passion for the details, and an ability to explain them.
An ability to work in a high growth organization in which you regularly have to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with non-profit accounting.
A collaborative and flexible style and a strong service mentality that enables you to work with and support local and international colleagues.
Excellent planning, analytical and time management skills.
Strong knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS.
Flexibility to travel internationally approximately 1-4 times per year.
A CPA certificate with your name on it.
