Director - Environmental Services - HCA North & West Florida - Hudson
Job description
Responsibilities of the Environmental Services Director include: Demonstrates twenty four hour responsibility and accountability for operations. Ensures facility is maintained in sanitary, safe and orderly manner for patients, visitors and physicians. Ensures provision of quality services by maintaining appropriate resources, staffing levels, competency of staff, maintenance/ and performance of equipment, instrumentation calibration, physical space, and training and education of staff. Leads and facilitates organizational wide efforts to ensure quality improvement and infection control standards are met in order to maintain optimal performance and quality of care. Ensures compliance with JCAHO, and all legal, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of services, through measuring, assessment and monitoring of Environmental Services processes and systems. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and reports trends in occurrences to staff quarterly. This information is used to improve safety.
Desired Skills and Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: Three to five years’ experience in environmental sciences or a healthcare setting. Knowledge of state and federal hazardous and biological waste regulations preferred. Must have prior Director experience.
Skills: Organizational, Verbal, Interpersonal, Customer Relations, Mathematical, Analytical, Grammar/Spelling, Read/Comprehend written instructions, Follow verbal instructions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MediTech
