Global Strategic Sourcing Director - VMware - Palo Alto

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing, the Director for the Global Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the horizontal sourcing functions such as P2P, Tools, Processes and also lead the Technology Licensing category. This person will lead a team of sourcing professionals to ensure that the organization has best-in-class procurement processes & tools and overall sourcing scorecard. This person will provide leadership to the Technology Licensing category that is responsible for managing inbound licensing activity across the company. Responsibilities also include sourcing compliance, supplier risk management and providing program management for key major initiatives including benchmarking & best practices.


Responsibilities:

* Lead the horizontal structure for sourcing that includes P2P, sourcing tools & processes, compliance to drive efficiencies & performance, implement best-in-class sourcing processes and catalog deployment. Drive efficiencies through integration of diverse sourcing tool processes such Coupa, Ariba and ERP systems

* Lead the supplier management strategy establishing and executing on a preferred supplier program that outlines a tiered supplier program into basic, approved and preferred suppliers with clear strategies for each of the tiers

* Drive sourcing mandates & process changes that enable increased Spend Under Management in partnership with the key vertical spend categories

* Partner with finance organization on plans, forecasts and pipeline reporting and accounting reporting requirements. Lead the annual plan cycle and creation of a three year strategic plan

* Lead the Technology Licensing category including managing complete lifecycle of third party software acquisition

* Sourcing compliance including SEC reporting, and partner with Internal Audit on compliance issues and corrective actions. Drive supplier risk management initiatives

* Partner with Alliances organization with rules of engagement and reporting requirements for strategic relationships

* Program Management for planning and execution of complex sourcing transformation projects

* Managing sourcing integration activities including merger, acquisitions & divestitures

Qualifications:

* High energy , strong hands-on leader who proactively collaborates with business leaders and internal teams throughout the organization and can establish credibility quickly

* Superior relationship building skills and the ability to operate with an open mind and navigate successfully in a fast-paced environment

* Strong communication, teambuilding and collaborative skills with the ability to impact in a multi-cultural and multi-functional environment effectively

* Strong business acumen including good strategy, financial and operational skills

* Proven track record of ability to work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into operationalized solutions

* Experience leading high impact complex programs and projects across multiple geographies and functions.

* 10+ years of sourcing experience in sourcing processes, tools, catalogs and sourcing benchmarking and best practices

Education:

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science

* Master’s degree preferred
