Director - Marketing - Panera Bread - Boston


Job description
The Director of Marketing, Panera To You will have responsibility for the planning and execution of marketing initiatives to support Panera’s Catering business as well as an emerging online ordering platform consisting of Rapid Pick-Up, Small Order Delivery, and Kiosk ordering. Additionally, this position is tasked with growing Panera’s other Dine-Out growth concepts including Delcos and Centralized Catering Centers. The Director should demonstrate the ability to establish best marketing practices, develop processes and guide analysis based on prior experience.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an ecommerce environment, preferably in the QSR industry, and should be knowledgeable in general marketing related areas such as local store marketing, media, customer acquisition, including loyalty programming, email retention, SEM/SEO, and reactivation campaigns. Panera is looking for a leader who possesses strong project management, communication and analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all aspects of marketing to support the Panera To You initiative:
Develop marketing plans to drive sales and transaction growth for online ordering.
Serve as strategic marketing lead for new business units including Delcos and Centralized Catering Centers.
Manage LSM, CRM, media and branding for Panera To You and Catering initiatives.
Serve as the marketing subject matter expert for Catering and ecommerce business:
Liaise with research teams to craft messaging and plans in response to the latest consumer and competitive analysis.
Work with finance and operations to apply learnings with actionable, results driven marketing tactics.
Oversee Marketing budgets for Panera To You initiatives, providing forecasting and ROI analysis on all program spending.
Support company KPIs related to Panera To You, providing progress analysis and reporting to leadership on a regular basis.
Represent Panera To You marketing efforts in key meetings with leadership and operations, providing strategic direction and perspective.
Conceive and execute tests to continue to drive business and achieve departmental goals.
Leverage spend across business units, marketing channels and vendors to efficiently and effectively grow sales.
Lead and mentor a team of two Marketing Coordinators supporting the Panera To You Business.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in related marketing fields.
Ability to think strategically, as well as implement tactically - strong project management skills. Idea generator capable of original and brand appropriate thinking.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Experience acting as company spokesperson and representing the company to multiple audiences.
Experience working with senior leadership.
Able to work collaboratively and influence key stakeholders (senior leadership, operators) without direct authority.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications. MBA preferred.
