Director - Store Systems - IT - The Men's Wearhouse - Houston
Job description
Position Summary:
The Men’s Wearhouse is currently seeking a Director of Store Systems. As a leader of the Store Systems (Point of Sale) team, this individual will be responsible for planning, executing, managing, maintaining and finalizing Store Systems related projects from beginning to end in collaboration with Store Operations team and other technology and business teams. The Director of Store Systems will provide support ownership for all store systems including Point of Sale (POS), Inventory, Time Tracking, Sales Audit and other software and hardware and third party interfaces with store systems.
Key Accountabilities:
Work with Store Operations to develop and execute Store Systems roadmap
Work with cross functional team to support company initiatives that require Store Systems involvement
Work with business and technology peers to drive omni-channel and other digital initiatives in Men’s Wearhouse stores
Responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, upgrade, support of existing hardware and software on point of sales servers, terminals, and back office software.
Manage project team members and contractors on shore and offshore
Order, prepare, install, and/or oversee all aspects of Store Systems projects and equipment. Responsible for the coordination and completion of all Store Systems projects within time and budget guidelines, while minimizing impact to service
Prepare accurate and timely reports and communicate the status of projects to team members and Executive Management
Evaluate Store systems and organization needs and recommend changes for current and future projects. Drive technology direction, enterprise architecture
Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost effectiveness
Implement appropriate software development processes and methodologies to achieve high productivity and reliability and quality of the deliverables. Reduce time to market while maintaining high quality
Skills/Abilities/Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field required
5-7 years direct work experience in IT
3-5 years direct work experience in retail IT in management capacity
Project management skills; ability to manage tasks and assignments and hold staff, vendor and self, accountable for deadlines
Strong supervisory, coaching, and mentoring skills required
Independent work and collaborative team work required
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills required
Exceptional attention to detail
Must enjoy working with people and technology
Outstanding organizational skills
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Self-starter – proactive work ethic
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Must be an excellent presenter, both face to face and over the phone

Authorized to work for any employer in the United States
Ability to pass a thorough background check
Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:
Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
Able to lift and move up to 10 pounds occasionally
Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
Ability to work at least 40+ hours per week
