Director - Services - Looker - San Francisco
Job description
The Director of Services will provide direct leadership to our Implementation Services team with an eye toward scaling our Services program to become a core offering in our enterprise account strategy. In this role, you will champion and promote a world-class services vision by providing leadership excellence in Serivces product development, implementation planning, strategy, relationship building, staffing and consulting execution. Key metrics for the team currently include customer activation, adoption, usage rates and adding to the total value that Looker gains from each customer by generating high ROI and great outcomes for our customers.
The Implementation team within the Looker Services organization serves as a primary point of contact to drive the successful implementation, adoption and broad usage of Looker within the customer organization. Activities of the team include identification of customer business / data analysis use cases, definition of appropriate business and technical solutions, engagement management, account development, business process reengineering, customer change management, technology evangelizing, and business consulting.
As the Director of this team, responsibilities will include:
Build and Lead a distributed, global team of Data Analytics Consultants who serve as our core product implementation and optimization experts.
Select, build and develop the team by recruiting, training, deploying, defining staff development areas and providing ongoing feedback, coaching and training.
Define and develop Services offerings that meet the needs of our customers, drive new markets and/or expand existing market presence, and generate ROI to Looker.
Develop strong working relationships across Regions and Functions (sales, operations, product, marketing, etc.).
Provide leadership for the Services function amongst Looker business units, and integrate strategic direction into the Services program activities and goals.
Execute strong business practices to drive effective use of consulting methodologies within the team to achieve and exceed customer expectations.
Ensure that the Services team executes on effectively activating customer instances (in conjunction with the Sales team) to develop a highly influential business relationship with customers.
Contribute to Product team by providing insight and feedback relative to customers’ critical business issues and solutions opportunities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
3+ years management experience in technology consulting / services management required.
8+ years combined experience in sales, business development, and services delivery experience in a high tech software product / consulting services business.
Experience in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in understanding customer requirements and proposing solutions.
Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing business / technology transformation programs.
Ability to assess feasibility and costs of client requests.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to persuasively articulate services offerings, solutions and technologies, and their business value to customers.
Excellent problem solving and negotiating skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured, entrepreneurial “start-up” environment, requiring superior skills in critical thinking, influencing, and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Comfort level with ambiguity, but ability to drive to clarity.
Bachelor degree required.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.
