Are you passionate about translating complex & diverse customer needs in the emerging IoT space into a world class IoT platform? Xively is looking for a passionate and hands-on Director of Product Management to drive the definition and development of the next generation platform and products.
The Director of Product Management will work across the organization and with customers to gather business and product requirements, work with the engineering group to translate them into artifacts and ensure that they manifest as a world class product. This role will drive the definition, user experience and development of the Xively platform and the applications stack that it powers.

This person will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning, and driving the execution of the vision of Xively. The Director of Product Management must possess strong business acumen, deep engineering background, the proven ability to lead high performing teams. The Product Owner works with customers and cross functionally with Product Marketing, Engineering and Sales in order to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that make our customers win.

The ideal candidate is a senior technologist who has significant experience working on SaaS/Cloud-Computing/Big Data products and prior experience working on version 1.0 products. The right person will be equally at ease building plumbing technologies as they are with building user friendly applications. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking complex systems and distilling them into simple, intuitive solutions, built with the customer as the center piece. This person will have a track record of delivering the right results; “shipping” products/features that solve specific user pain. The desire to work effectively in a hyper growth, rapidly iterating startup environment is an absolute necessity. Previous experience delivering in such an environment is a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage product strategies, roadmaps, project plans and product specifications for the Xively IoT platform
Work with a cross functional teams including engineering, marketing and sales to ensure timely delivery of software that meets customer needs
Manage a small team of product managers & UX professionals
Discover and translate customer and market needs into an executable product roadmap
“Own” the product’s user experience and feature set and act as the product evangelist to build awareness within the organization
Prioritize and create detailed agile user stories, own the backlog and participate in agile sprint planning
Keep a pulse on the fast evolving market & customer needs and monitor competitors

Desired Skills and Experience

Hands-On experience defining and shipping version 1 products is required
Background in infrastructure (management, monitoring etc) and/or data analytics software is highly desired
12+ years in leadership roles in software product development in startups/enterprise software companies
Background in managing large scale Cloud/SaaS software is required
Experience working with large geographically distributed development teams
Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to take on new challenges and quickly drive business value
