Job description
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (Utility) is a public utility operating in northern and central California. The Utility engages in the businesses of electricity and natural gas distribution; electricity generation, procurement, and transmission; and natural gas procurement, transportation, and storage. The Utility serves approximately 5.1 million electricity distribution customers with 141,215 circuit miles of distribution lines and approximately 4.3 million natural gas distribution customers with 6,438 miles of transportation pipelines.

There are approximately 22,000 employees who carry out the Utility’s primary business—the transmission and delivery of energy. The company provides electricity and gas to approximately 15 million people throughout a 70,000-square mile service area in northern and central California. The service area stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east. Department Overview

Position Summary
The Director, Nuclear Work Management directs the nuclear power plant's Outage and Scheduling functions.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• 7+ years of power plant experience or applicable industrial leadership experience; inclusive of 1 year of nuclear power plant experience. (2 years of post-high school education can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.)
• 2+ years of experience leading a team in a highly matrixed organization.
• A High School Diploma.

Desired Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A., in work planning, organizational development, engineering, science, or related discipline.
• SRO License.

Responsibilities

The Director, Nuclear Worker Management leads a team of managers and contractors in daily work control, outage and work planning organizations, who are responsible for all aspects of Diablo Canyon Work Management. The Director and his or her team:

• Focuses on implementing operating plans consistent with business strategy. Integrates diverse activities with new processes.
• Sets goals, budgets and objectives for Outage and Scheduling.
• Develops, mentors, and coaches managers.
• Makes decisions that directly impacts achievement of Outage and Scheduling objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience
