Director - Marketing - Aequitas Capital - Lake Oswego


Job description
Reporting to the SVP of Integrated Marketing, the Director of Marketing is responsible for the oversight and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives across multiple business units. The position will manage a team of both internal and external resources to ensure seamless execution and delivery of marketing plans. This position will manage a portfolio of projects and apply program management principles to coordinate inter-dependencies across multiple projects (e.g. full campaigns) and sub-projects.
The Director will ensures projects are appropriately resourced, communications plans are in place, and projects are actively managed. The position will coordinate project deliverables by tracking and reporting on progress and performance to ensure on-time, on-budget, and in-scope delivery while also providing quality assurance and adherence to brand standards.

Essential Functions:
Manage and execute programs/campaigns such as advertising, direct mail/email, promotions and channel marketing initiatives to support business units.
Oversee marketing team resources to implement initiatives in support of branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, thought leadership pieces, brochures, presentations, seminars, events, collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
Serve as the point-person for all marketing development requests and manage resources to complete the initiatives in a timely manner while staying on budget.
Develop project plans, creative briefs, and review process for marketing materials.
Manage the Company’s marketing budget, with direct oversight by SVP of Integrated Marketing.
Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
Works with the marketing project requester to confirm the scope, approach, audience, timing and deliverables. Ensures that marketing project requirements are clearly and fully documented in the Marketing Creative & Project Brief.
Tracks and reports progress across the portfolio of projects. Ensures on-time and on-budget delivery. Communicates and facilitates changes in creative, technology, processes and systems. Coordinates scope and schedule changes that affect the program. Attains approvals when the strategy, scope, budget (schedule) of a project changes.
Understands current business processes, and systems and how they relate/affect the Marketing campaign activities. Has a clear understanding of each of the stakeholders areas of responsibility, inter-dependencies, and the impact a project can have on each of the areas.
Develops and maintains trusting, respectful, and professional relationships with marketing team members, sponsors and stakeholders. Represents clients by helping them translate their marketing and communications strategies into marketing projects, campaigns and activities.
Proactively monitors/updates the Marketing project calendar. Provides close-out report, which includes lessons learned, for all major projects.
Serves as a subject matter expert on corporate and marketing projects, committees or task forces, as needed. Commitment to strong customer service, and able to work independently. Ability to understand and translate requester’s marketing strategies into plans, and be able to drive project to completion.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the company.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education:
BS/BA in Marketing, Business Administration or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA preferred.
Experience:
8+ years of marketing experience in comparable industry; strongly prefer financial services experience
Ability to plan and manage in both strategic and operational levels
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment
Other Desired Skills:
Competency in Microsoft Office products and project planning software.
