Director Responsibilities:
Sales – provide support with sales campaigns, identify sales opportunities, and lead proposal efforts
Engagement delivery – lead engagements and / or execute engagement tasks independently and deliver to high quality standards
Problem solving – break down clients’ most challenging problems and construct solutions
Practice development – support and contribute to the management and development of Practice initiatives (e.g., recruiting, people and culture, internal communications, and training)
Networking – develop an extensive network of professional contacts, especially in target clients and relevant industry segments
Market knowledge and development – leverage your market knowledge to develop business propositions
Engagement management – scope and lead large projects in a deadline oriented environment
Staff development – mentor and develop staff’s soft and technical professional skills
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
10 or more years’ experience in selling and delivering operations and/or compliance consulting service to the investment management industry.
Ability to (i) provide operations and technology improvement and organizational advisory services to investment managers; (ii) evaluate governance and oversight program policies, procedures and supporting technology and operational infrastructure and internal controls environment; and (iii) develop and execute risk-based testing programs supporting asset managers compliance with relevant regulations.
Ability to advise investment firms who manage various asset classes and products including collateralized debt & collateralized loan obligations, bank loans, real estate, mortgages, public fixed income, equity and derivative products in the areas of operations, technology and compliance.
Ability to perform assessments in the area of operations and compliance risk through review of an organization’s structure, controls, and operating procedures in the investment management industry
Preferred: Comprehensive knowledge of investment products, investment operations, market leading technologies and rules and regulations as it relates to the securities industry, including: the Investment Adviser Act of 1940 and the Investment Company act of 1940, Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act of 1999 the Patriot Act of 2001, Dodd-Frank, and European Market Infrastructure Reform.
Bachelor’s degree in a business related or technical field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative problem-solving ability and a collaborative, consultancy mindset
Experience working on discrete, time sensitive projects
Highly motivated, driven, and dynamic attitude towards work and career
Passionate about work and personal life
Ability to travel up to 100% for client engagements as required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Access, and Visio a plus
MBA or MA/MS degree in a related field a plus
Lean, Six Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus; desire to pursue certifications a plus.
