Job description
Job Purpose
The Director of Business Development position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan to increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Implement the recommendations of the strategic marketing plan; Perform market research and analysis.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product and business
Evaluate operational issues to ensure organizational strategy remains competitive and current with the latest trends in the industry.
Meet with key clients, to promote sales, maintain relationships in the industry and negotiate closing deals.
Establish and maintains relationships with industry and key strategic partners.
Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
Assist in or produce feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.
Develop marketing campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
Manage specific corporate programs; Assist in planning of any event that highlights corporate services.
Liaise with other departments to ensure allocation of resources depending upon anticipated level of activity sales.
Responsible for recruitment and orientation.
Prepare marketing campaigns for new employees coming on board.
Assist in developing an on-going guest-relations program for our employees.
Demonstrate knowledge of, and supports, mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Assist in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from constituents.
Perform frequent public speaking at company sponsored events and on committees to enhance public relations efforts and penetrate market/industry presence of our brand.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred
5 years proven background in business development with project/program management; proven track record in strong presentation skills; track record of business-to-business sales. In addition, 3-5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, preferred hotel concierge.
