Edelman is seeing a Vice- President – Strategic Planner to work across its Southwest and Southeast regions to work on clients spanning the corporate, technology, consumer, healthcare, education and energy arenas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The VP, Strategic Planner will conduct research/have an ability to find relevant information from multiple sources (both on-line and off-line) on a variety of topics related to a given project. The information will pertain to (but not be limited to) category, market and media trends, generational behaviors/values/trends, societal/cultural mega-trends. This person will stay current on news of the day and of news/information relating to a broad mix of subjects. The VP, Strategic Planner will highlight and frame insights, write creative briefs, program decks, research dossiers, and the like. The person must demonstrate thoroughness, intelligence, resourcefulness and be able to work independently and collaborate well across groups.

Desired Skills and Experience
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
The Vice President – Strategic Planner must have at least ten years of experience in market research, strategic planning and/or brand anthropology. Background could include advertising, public relations, market research, corporate and/or media. Agency experience is ideal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have an understanding of and experience in mining for and examining research data from multiple sources including secondary research (MRI, Data Monitor, Roper Reports, etc) as well as primary research. After the research is gathered, candidate must have the ability to craft a thoughtful research review that will be used to develop insights, strategy and ideas that ultimately solve problems or create opportunities for our clients. The VP, Strategic Planner must have the ability to work with teams on insights and strategy development and demonstrate a strong ability in both oral, and written communication.
