Senior Director - Sales - Tessera - San Francisco

Job description
Tessera Technologies Inc., a world leader in IP and technology licensing and developer of leading edge technologies in the semiconductor, image processing, MEMS and LED segments, is seeking a Senior Director of Sales to help drive business growth in their core IP and technology licensing businesses.
The successful candidate will inherit a number of existing accounts but will be primarily responsible for developing, driving and closing new customer licensing opportunities and negotiating these opportunities in partnership with the technology, legal and executive staff.

Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years’ sales experience in semiconductor technology or a related field with a proven record of developing, negotiating and closing large deals
Strong direct and remote sales skills. Must be extremely comfortable engaging and developing relationships with senior level executives at large international public companies
Strong and demonstrated ability to negotiate and close large revenue producing deals including large, complex contract negotiations
Demonstrated ability to develop new business plans and strategies resulting in new market penetration and key account success
Excellent customer facing skills including the ability to introduce new technology platforms and the ability to tailor and sell the company’s technologies and IP to specific customers
Experience in technology or IP licensing is a plus
Understanding and experience in several of the following markets is a plus: semiconductor packaging and/or advanced printed circuit boards, cloud computing and data centers, advanced and ARM-based server systems, client computing including tablet and advanced PC computing, mobile computing, semiconductor material technology, optical networking, set-top boxes
Excellent communication and presentation skills required
Minimum BS degree in a technology discipline
Travel >25%, often internationally
