Position can be based in New York, Burbank or Atlanta.
The Head of Network and Voice Engineering is a senior level management role within Operations & Engineering that is responsible for enterprise network, telecommunications and associated security engineering systems and services in support of a 24/7 global media environment. This role will manage multiple technical teams responsible for implementing and supporting global distribution, core and carrier networking as well as capacity planning and management. Responsibilities include management of technical personnel in network/voice/security engineering functions that facilitate new implementations, as well as providing effective support for mission-critical environments.
This role will ensure success of new implementations and guarantee effective operational processes and systems are in place to deliver high customer SLAs.
This role has functional oversight for all network, voice and security platforms and services, including integration of new network and associated technologies into enterprise service environments.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Leads all aspects of data networking team including design, engineering, security, implementation and transition to operations for the enterprise’s global network and voice services.
-Responsible for all networks, voice and security platforms and services, including integration of new network and associated technologies into enterprise service environments.
-Works with EIS senior management, IT and architects to ensure business alignment of associated networking and telecommunications services.
-Develops enterprise service levels for data and voice networking platforms, and oversees development of procedures and processes for enterprise network operations.
-Responsible for ensuring that the enterprise has the capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of network, voice and security performance and reliability.
-Provides engineering leadership and administrative management oversight for the core systems infrastructure team.
-Plans, organizes and implements the enterprise's internal networking, voice and associated technical systems infrastructure.
-Directs technical teams to build and configure according to architectural guidelines and implement service monitoring across all platforms to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capability of critical systems.
-Directs a large number of complex IT networking initiatives across multiple locations.
-Builds and maintains test, development, quality assurance and production environments to support the service life-cycle.
-Provides leadership and expertise in executing large, long-term information technology initiatives that cross multiple technical disciplines.
-Directs teams leading vendor management and issue resolution support, including level III network support for global systems operations center.
Desired Skills and Experience
EXPERIENCE:
-More than 12 years of experience in enterprise network management and global networking environments.
-More than 5 years of experience in enterprise telephony and converged communications.
-8+ years of proven experience leading IT operations teams.
-Significant experience with operational management of problem resolution under ITIL frameworks.
-Extensive experience in executing service design and service transition activities within ITIL life-cycle.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
-Technical background and demonstrated working knowledge in areas such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, IPSEC, MPLS, VPN, VoIP and Multi-cast.
-Desired knowledge of vendor product and platform solutions including Cisco, HP networking, Juniper, F5 and Riverbed.
-Knowledge of global high-performance networking developments and options.
SKILLS:
-Ability to develop and lead teams and technology innovations within the networking space.
-Ability to work collaboratively to define strategies, innovate and manage technical solutions.
-Ability to facilitate and coordinate cross-organizational technical strategies and solutions.
-Proficiency in managing budgets, staffing and project management of short and long-running projects involving complex software, internal and third-party partner infrastructure and major launches.
-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
-Must possess an aptitude for translating complex. technical subjects into clear, business-oriented communications.
-Strong business acumen, managerial, organizational, analytic and problem solving skills.
-Ability to work across diverse organizations and lead complex internal and external project teams.
-Collaborative and cooperative approach to leadership and management.
EDUCATION:
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
