Director - Marketing Operations - Polycom - San Francisco


Job description

The Director of Marketing Operations leads the marketing operations function within the Polycom Marketing organization. The function is responsible for marketing-related reporting and analytics across all marketing functions; interpreting the data and making strategy recommendations; process building/refinement; planning and budgeting (in conjunction with corporate marketing/marketing leadership); marketing technology selection, implementation, data management; demand generation funnel management and marketing skills development.

Roles and Responsibilities
Define, develop and deliver marketing measurement approach
Construct consistent and accurate key marketing reporting mechanisms, including dashboards and reports
Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and success of driving profitable revenue growth
Ongoing analytics delivery to provide marketing and sales with insights for better decision making
Marketing technology infrastructure ownership with the web team including collaboration with IT, sales and other functions as needed
Marketing data ownership/management, as well as alignment with relevant corporate data initiatives
Work closely with sales operations and sales leadership to drive strong lead management and conversion rates
Oversight of marketing planning and budgeting process in conjunction with the CMO
Development of a marketing professional development/training plan by function, working in conjunction with leaders of those functions

Create and help to manage a best-in-class customer and partner database
Drive deep segmentation to help the field marketing teams deliver the right message to the right audience enabling best-in-class results
Specific MBOs to be determined to help transform Polycom Marketing into a metrics driven digital marketing organization

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications for this role include:

Background/Experience
Five to seven years of global marketing experience, ideally in marketing operations/analytical/demand generation roles
Demand creation/field marketing experience is highly desirable
IT project management experience, including the rollout of related applications (Database, marketing automation, CRM/SFDC…etc) to sales and marketing audiences
Marketing reporting and dashboard development, analysis and delivery, including using data from MAP, SFA, Web analytics and finance
Lead management process creation, delivery and monitoring, particularly in the area of service-level agreements
Collaborative at all levels of the organization and facilitates strong teamwork
Analytical thinker, naturally curious and willing to learn new best in class leading edge marketing analytics methods and processes
Desire to see marketing work more smoothly and efficiently
Excellent at planning and always looking ahead to avoid last minute fire drills and to help the organization run like a well-oiled machine
Able to solve problems/meet goals in creative ways with limited resources
Able to identify and use resources outside direct reporting structure
