Enterprise Business Services (EBS) is a new Division within Transamerica that has been established to identify common functions across the organization that could potentially be better leveraged as a shared service. Responsibilities
This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA

EBS Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) is looking for a dynamic leader to provide overall IT/strategic leadership to a shared services development team. This team will focus on the development of customer facing systems and provide application development capabilities that align with the needs of our divisional partner/customers. These systems include agent and customer websites, enterprise middleware & services, business-to-business platforms supporting distribution partners and print/publishing systems. The incumbent leader will provide oversight and direction to comprehensive and successful technology planning from a shared services portfolio and architectural standpoint.

Set and communicate strategic and operational direction of a shared services application development team to align with Transamerica and divisional business goals. This includes budgeting, planning, implementing, managing, and process improvement of the IT function.
Assists with the development and strategic alignment of the shared services organization and offerings that closely align with the strategic needs of divisional partners/customers and Transamerica.
Establishes and communicates strategic and operational initiatives associated with divisional goals.
Continually seeks to improve processes and performance improvement by applying best practices and cost-benefit-analyses for all initiatives used.
Defines and directs formal communication methods and establishes open and consistent communication with the divisional leadership and divisional partners/customers.
Directs problem resolution, decision making and communications to ensure they are aligned with the development and operations of a strategically aligned shared services organization.
Serves as the functional IT lead for a shared services development team focused on the development of external facing systems of engagement. Scope of oversight includes the full software development lifecycle.
Manages the IT department which includes direct line managers, staffing, development, appraisal, budgeting and resource allocation to control costs and increase efficiencies.
Manages staff training plans, career planning opportunities, performance evaluations, coaching and mentoring procedures for assigned managers and staff.
Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Experienced in resource planning, administration and project management.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience required.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, and 3 years’ experience in financial services.
Prior management experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will build strong relationships across EBS and the AEGON/Transamerica organization by engaging leaders and others with a cultural competence that creates accountability for execution while fostering development and growth opportunities. In addition, the use of highly effective liaison skills to effectively establish professional, credible, and mutually beneficial relationships with senior stakeholders is imperative.
