Director - Chilled Transportation - Tropicana - PepsiCo - Bradenton

Job description

Position is responsible for all Tropicana and Naked Juice chilled Transportation within the U.S. Includes all Inbound/Intermediate/Finished Goods movement, all modes, to and from manufacturing, co-packer and distribution sites. Position directs a Transportation team that executes strategic initiatives and day to day operational activity to satisfy service and financial targets. Manages a $160MM annual Transportation spend,

Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, guidance and support to the Transportation team that manages day to day activity at all Tropicana and Naked Juice Distribution Centers.
Develops talent and bench strength to support future organizational needs inside and outside the Chilled Business Unit. This includes providing Associates with opportunity for career development through training/cross training, strategic initiative and point assignments, and direct exposure to other supply chain functions.
Focuses the Transportation organization on providing differentiable value within the supply chain through cross functional collaboration, creation of effective contingencies and responsiveness to and successful management of delivery exceptions via 24/7 operational support.
Utilizes broad knowledge of functional pinch/risk points and capabilities to guide entire Logistics team to successful completion of a variety of strategic initiatives (Customer promotions, packaging modifications, system implementations/modifications etc)
Sets financial and service targets and drives aggressive productivity agenda to exceed Business Unit and Transportation Customer service and financial priorities.
Develops three year business plan utilizing transportation industry forecasts and internal business unit plan detail to maintain and improve unit cost.
Develops three year capex plan to impact cost/sustainability/service advantage provided by company owned private fleets (rail, truck).

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics)
10+ years of broad transportation/supply chain experience. Knowledge of rail operations.
Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills
Strong planning/project management and analytical skills.
Strong people management skills. Ability to pull multiple functional teams together to solve short term and long term issues.
Ability to develop strong partnerships with core carriers to develop long term strategic capacity that supports volume demands.
Thorough understanding of the Tropicana/Naked Juice supply chain, its capabilities and pinch points.
In depth knowledge of transportation trends relative to carrier capacity, shipping lanes, pricing, regulatory issues/changes.
Ability to optimize key metric performance through effective use of available resource including people, process and technology.
Ability to work across multiple functions, management levels and business units to extract and capitalize on best practices.
