Director - Marketing - International - NuVasive - San Diego
Job description
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Guide the development of, and assume responsibility and accountability for the departmental expense budget.
Interface with and influence domestic and international departments and/or personnel in the management of global project responsibilities. Interface both in local and International environments.
Use sound problem solving techniques to thoroughly review the decisions that can be made at this level. These decisions may include marketing strategy, financial trade-offs, process changes, approvals, etc. depending on their scope and magnitude.
Guide and collaborate with Regulatory Affairs management in following International regulatory organizations’ guidelines in regard to the development, promotion, sales and dispensing of NuVasive products.
While developing and managing the International Marketing team, develop new strategies and/or plans for market introduction.
Interface with medical professionals and key opinion leaders with respect to marketability, applicability, training, and utility of systems.
Provide ongoing technical support to international areas on use of products.
Participate, lead, support, and/or have marketing team do the same for cadaver labs, trade shows, and/or industry meetings.
Provide leadership, instruction, training and guidance to less experienced members of the Marketing group.

Computer Skills: Proficient and accurate with typical business software systems, MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook), flow charting, graphs, etc. Resourceful electronic search capability.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate with non- native-speaking shareowners and customers.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve, and interpret problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstracts and/or concrete variables.
Required Experience
Education and/or Experience: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (BSME) or equivalent with three years experience in a supervisory/managerial role in an orthopedic/implant related field. Required >7 years total experience.
