Director - Indirect Taxes - eBay - San Jose

Job description
The Director, Indirect Taxes will manage indirect tax matters for Marketplaces, PayPal, eBay Enterprise and other subsidiaries. The position will report to the Senior Tax Director, Marketplaces in San Jose.
Core Responsibilities:
Work with the Senior Tax Director, Marketplaces to develop and implement indirect tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies
Identify, evaluate and mitigate indirect tax exposures
Maintain and enhance the indirect tax processes and functions within the accounting system (SAP)
Advise on indirect tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions and integration of acquired companies
Deliver timely and accurate tax advice to business units
Structure intercompany relationships and transactions
Collaborate and coordinate with business units and the direct tax function
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
- Bachelor's, emphasis in Accounting
- CPA or MBA preferred
- 10+ years or more of indirect tax experience in consulting and/or industry
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Open and curious about new experiences and subject matters
- Experience with the indirect tax issues facing Internet and ecommerce beneficial
- Strong customer focus; good listening, negotiation and problem-resolution skills
- Confidence, poise and diplomacy when interacting with all levels of management as well as with tax authorities
- Demonstrated passion and track record of delivering results in a rapidly changing business environment
- Strong issue identification and mitigation skills
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations
- Must have exceptional accounting, analytical and research skills
