General Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and experiences individual for our Director, Manufacturing role. Job responsibilities will include:

*Develop and implement manufacturing strategy for high-mix low volume discrete production of complex scientific instrumentation.
*Direct all production activity to achieve targets and meet demand.
*Define and implement manufacturing workflows, tools, data and transaction, and quality control processes.
*Establish, measure, and control against operational performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
*Ensure appropriate training and personnel skill requirements are met.
*Participate in the launch of new products into production.
*Set resource and staffing levels, and prioritize and adjust production based on supply/demand needs.
*Set and execute against spending and capital budgets.
*This position reports to the Director of Global Operations.

Desired Skills and Experience
Work Experience Requirements:
- 15+ years experience in manufacturing management in a discrete, high-tech OEM manufacturing environment
- 10+ years prior experience with direct production management responsibility, at least 3 in a senior role
- Proven track record of achieving targets
- Familiarity with high-tech scientific instrument manufacturing, including precision mechanical assembly, optical alignment, and chemical wet testing / verification
- Strong analytical capability, demonstrated capability to use data and logical problem solving to drive decisions, ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward way
- Excellent communication skill and capability to interact at all levels in the organization
- Previous manufacturing engineering and process development / NPI experience desired

Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar required
- Masters or MBA desired
