VP - Human Resources - Ask Partner Network - Oakland
Job description
We are seeking an energetic and passionate VP, Human Resources responsible for strategic partnering, organizational planning and execution of HR activities including: Employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and management coaching. This role requires a hands-on strategic thinker who understands how to develop human capital while adapting to changing market dynamics. Qualified candidates must have worked in a high-tech environment. You are smart, creative, solution-oriented, resourceful, flexible, and entrepreneurial at heart.
Desired Skills and Experience
The VP, HR will support several business leaders and report directly to the President of APN, while actively coordinating with the IAC Search and Application team on overall HR initiatives. Working out of our Oakland, CA office you will oversee the Human Resources needs for this exciting, multi-faceted organization by providing the following:
Develop strategic initiatives that have a substantial impact on the company’s success overall, while evaluating the impact of decisions on the employee population.
Build credibility within the organization and provide guidance on all HR matters to all levels.
Provide guidance and consultation on employee-relations issues. Investigate and facilitate resolution of employee concerns
Work with management team to design and implement training programs.
Manage the performance management process to ensure timely and qualitative performance reviews are conducted.
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws, industry trends, practices, and developments regarding Human Resources that may affect a company and advise management and employees accordingly.
Requirements:
You have 10+ years experience in a high-tech, Internet or online media company; preferably a mix of start-up and large organization experience.
You have a Bachelor’s degree (HR certifications a plus).
You have experience managing within a fast-paced leadership team.
You have worked in an environment with regional distributed leadership and support models.
You demonstrate exemplary people management skills.
You are up-to-date on all state and federal compliance employment compliance issues; excellent employee relations background and instincts.
You have familiarity with Foreign Visa Programs and experience recruiting and advising individuals who are in the United States on visas.
You have experience developing and providing regular HRM metrics.
You have the ability to build solid relationships and trust across the employee population.
You are comfortable working at the executive level of an organization; capable of coaching at all levels.
You have a proven ability to mentor and coach staff and foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
You are a performance management evangelist with creative solutions to motivate and retain top talent.
You have exposure to managing to local space and facilities issues.
Gravitas to lead; energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humor.
