Senior Director - Intelligence Community Business Development - DynCorp International - McLean

Job Summary
The Intelligence Community Business Development Director Senior initiates and implements the research and analysis of business opportunities, consistent with organization’s long range and strategic plans. Will be responsible for the annual bookings plan for DynCorp International’s Intelligence business area.
Principal Accountabilities( Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Responsible for building company presence as an intelligence community provider and effectively leading the marketing of the capabilities resulting to achieve and/or exceed the business plan and objectives.
Serve as focal point for intelligence community customers by representing the company’s business development growth within the national and military intelligence communities.
Lead the formulation, implementation, and comprehensive support to business areas, including enterprise initiatives, marketing efforts, trade show messaging and branding initiatives.
Establish relationships with and lead purposeful engagements with current and potential customers
Assess future growth opportunities aligned with the strategic growth direction. Provide recommendations on how to support customers in the targeted markets
Work across multiple functions and business areas and will lead the development and presentation of growth strategies and opportunities, both international and domestic
Lead the market assessments, develop new opportunities and advocates for new business resources, and coordinate win efforts
Lead assessment of new business opportunities including supply, maintenance, transportation, engineering, and base operations/maintenance support and adjacent markets
Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and financial goals
Participate on opportunity specific win strategy reviews step reviews
Position will be assigned to specific targeted business area/customer relationship and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Exceptional sales skills with demonstrated record of identifying, qualifying, capturing and winning intelligence community opportunities.
Most possess robust contacts, name recognition and credibility within the intelligence community at large and enhanced credibility within at least two of the top five national intelligence community customers (CIA, DIA, NGA, NRO, and NSA). Credible reputation within the military service intelligence community is also highly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of associate contractors and the intelligence community competitive landscape.
Proven ability to ‘market and sell’ to the intelligence community customer base, supported by capacity to identify partners, negotiation teaming agreements and all elements of new business follow through necessary to ‘close and delivery sales.’
Complete understanding of business development that includes contract cost and pricing principles that translates efforts in achievements especially in acquiring new and follow-on business.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
Ability to integrate regulatory, customer, political and market information into effective business strategies and plans.
Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with senior managers, employees, and the general public.
Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach, lead, motivate and influence others to support corporate goals and objectives.
Ability to obtain and maintain US passport.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in any major; Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or International Affairs are desirable.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration is desirable.
TS/SCI eligibility required; active TS/SCI preferred.
15 or more years of intelligence community experience, consisting of at a minimum:
5 years’ experience as an intelligence community business development professional
5 years’ experience of intelligence community direct mission performance or mission support
Proven record of successfully growing intelligence community business
Experience building and managing intelligence community customer relationships leading to discovery and shaping new business opportunities.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions
Travel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
