PayPal has formed a new Growth team with a dedicated focus on growing our customer base and engaging existing customers using data insights to prioritize and drive large scale initiatives that otherwise would not happen. The team is small, nimble, is led by some of the world's leading experts on growth, and offers an excellent step-up role for candidates willing to roll up their sleeves and take a "can-do" attitude to big opportunities and challenges. The opportunity to grow PayPal through channel growth, virality, better use of data and efficiencies is enormous, and we're looking for a highly quantitative, motivated, and capable candidate to lead several of these initiatives.
The Marketing Channels Growth Director will identify, prioritize, and lead new initiatives to propel the growth of our consumer and merchant business. This person will:
Drive marketing ROI and measurement capability across all marketing channels. We're going to start to measure marketing ROI on everything we do and iterate and adjust fast when we know what's working. This is cutting edge stuff that few other large companies are doing well at scale
Work with different marketing teams globally to help them instrument and measure marketing effectiveness, roll up sleeves, help them fix problems so that they can instrument and launch without this becoming overhead
Identify new opportunities to grow through marketing - gaps in media mix that need to be tested, virality, messaging tests or other initiatives, ultimately form a viewpoint on optimal media mix across channels. Then do it
Drive operational excellence - find a way to identify, share and quickly roll out best practices that we find now that we're measuring this all. If done correctly, you will become the go-to person that knows what works, and how to get it done FAST.
Drive consistency across how we measure our growth and what metrics matter worldwide. You make sure that we're all on the same page
In this role, a successful individual will:
Know marketing metrics and statistical methods well enough to decide what matters
Have a highly objective, fact based approach to what works
Possess strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to engage at all levels of an organization
Show flexibility in leading projects requiring different skills and expertise (e.g. product, technology, business acumen, strategy)
Be autonomous, comfortable operating on a lean team, and thrive in the face of ambiguity
Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and facility using influence to GSD
Consistently display excellent written and verbal communication skills
Approach problems with rigorous quantitative and strategic analysis

Requirements:
Bachelors degree required with at 8+ years relevant work experience
2+ years experience in a strategic consulting role
Experience working with marketing teams on campaign and digital marketing optimization
Demonstrated experience in digital, social and/or mobile marketing channels
Amazing attitude to GSD
