Program Project Director - Environmental Standards - Houston


Job description
Environmental Standards, Inc., a leader in developing innovative solutions to client environmental liabilities, has a Program Director / Project Director position available in our Houston, TX office. Since our inception in 1987, we have enjoyed long-term relationships with Fortune 500 companies and continue to provide high-quality environmental consulting services using emerging science and technologies.

As a Senior Scientist, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting on environmental projects to build a sustainable business locally and regionally. We are only considering candidates in the Houston area. The following responsibilities are associated with this position depending upon the amount of prior experience:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Develop and implement strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver financial results to grow opportunities across Environmental Standards’ service lines
Collaborate with other Environmental Standards practitioners to execute projects, including participating on teams comprised of Chemistry and Geoscience professionals from other Environmental Standards offices
As a senior “Seller/Doer” enter the position with strong existing client relationships, identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business. Development of new business with new and existing clients
Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand Environmental Standards profile and market share in the regional market through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development
Provide leadership in managing staff performance, and mentoring personnel for overall success of practice team
Additional responsibilities will be applicable pertaining to your practicing line of service (i.e. Chemistry, Geoscience, etc.)

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
BS\MS Natural Sciences; Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Hydrogeology, or other related field.
Professional Registration Preferred
15+ years of relevant technical and environmental consulting experience
Strong background in environmental consulting with an existing, well-established network in the Houston, TX market
Ability to enter the position with a confirmed book of business in hand to keep you busy for a six to twelve month period is strongly desired
Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business. Must have demonstrated sales results and ability to articulate short term sales goals and identify accounts and solid contacts
Consistent "seller/doer" track record of delivering annual sales of at least $500,000 (net revenue)
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and interaction skills
Exhibit one or more core strengths within your specific scientific discipline for which you are recognized by clients or in the broader market
Viewed as valued advisor by a number of existing clients
Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators
Excellent writing, computational, problem solving, communication, and computer skills
