Marketing Director - Ed-Fi Alliance - Austin
Job description
Ed-Fi Alliance is currently interviewing for a Marketing Director to support the organization’s mission and growing presence.
The Marketing Director is responsible for setting the strategy, planning and execution of all Ed-Fi Alliance marketing & communications programs and the oversight of identity and marketing efforts and manages any outsourced communications activities. The Marketing Director reports to the President of the Ed-Fi Alliance.
Core Responsibilities:
Product Marketing. Integrate research and insights into Ed-Fi Alliance and Ed-Fi solution messaging platforms, brand campaigns and sales materials and provide marketing and GTM support for all research and insights. Infuse insights-based messaging into all marketing communications materials created.
Brand Management and Engagement. Lead and oversee the development and implementation of communications, marketing and campaigns. Lead public awareness efforts. Measure effectiveness of efforts. Ongoing management of communications and marketing vendors. Enforce brand guidelines and monitoring usage by licensees (via onsite visits, product demos, scheduled product reviews, etc.). Support technical certification and quality assurance efforts.
Content Strategy. Oversee development of all marketing and sales collateral to support expansion into new markets and customer categories. Manage content creation for all channels (online and offline)
Conference and Event Support. Coordinate presence at external technical events and conferences, attendance where needed.
Public Relations and Outreach. Develop messaging and communication plans. Act as spokesperson for Ed-Fi social media community manager for publishing, monitoring, strategy.

Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate has the following experience and skill set:
Track-record of world-class marketing (10+ years) –product launch and sustain, marketing communications around perception change. Leading marketing of complex portfolios
Creating structure and definition around uncertain, complex and/or ambiguous business problems
Ability to influence matrixed teams and identify marketing needs, gain alignment, and deliver against outcomes expected
BS/BA degree required; MBA, study in marketing or business management or relevant advertising agency experience preferred
Proven ability in strategic marketing planning: research, goals, planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation
Experience in developing, managing and implementing media relations activities
Expertise with a wide range of communications practices and tactics including writing, editing, integrated digital communications, social media, public relations and public affairs including knowing the characteristics of audiences across platforms and the ability to tailor content to match their personalities and interests
Experience in using social CRM software
Exceptional oral and written communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in communicating effectively, clearly, and concisely
Must be a quick thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines within an ambiguous environment
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects against established milestones and deliverables
Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with team members and consultants
Proven ability to interpret analytical information and clearly communicate data based outcomes
Successful experience as a member of a dynamic and effective team
