Manager - Finance Optimization & Communications

The Corporate Finance department within Sony Pictures Entertainment has launched an initiative toward developing a “World Class Finance” organization with a focus on improving internal controls, the cost profile, performance management, training and business support for the Finance functions across the globe. The Finance Optimization Team (FOT) within Corporate Finance has been created to manage these initiatives and track business improvement.
SCOPE:
The Manager in FOT will serves as a member of a internal consulting team based in Culver City, California that advises division CFOs and company leadership on improvements to the performance, quality and efficiency of Finance operations, tools and processes throughout the company. He/she reports to the Director, FOT and is responsible for Communication and Change management support activities, transition support, and presentation and communication development for worldwide business improvement initiatives.
To be successful, this individual must:
(a) Develop and evaluate the change management process and related communication needs of a project or business and develop detailed improvement proposals
(b) Lead communication planning and materials development activities resulting from a new project implementation
(c) Possess a deep knowledge of one or more of the following: business process improvement, designing business architectures, change program management, or people/organizational change management.
(d) Be able to articulate the organizational transformation requirements while working closely with key stakeholders.
(e) Be able to analyze the request for change/communication and recommend a course of action and deliver in a timely manner.
(f) Apply superior project and resources management skills to deliver results on time and within budget.

40% - Communication Planning, Development and Delivery
Develop, maintain and implement stakeholder management and communication plans
Independently generate key project messages, design presentations, Web pages and other communication materials to effectively convey information and mitigate potential stakeholder concerns.
Develop templates and toolkits which can be effectively re-purposed
Create administrative systems/data bases to store and track distribution lists , communication materials and related data
Assists with meeting coordination as key tools for facilitating organizational change, communicating and promoting transformation efforts.
40% - Change Management and Transition Support
Provide change management business analysis and communication support to designated projects and initiatives
Confers with management to understand performance gaps and assess organizational effectiveness in order to determine change management and communication requirements.
Develop campaigns to engage and motivate people and facilitate alignment of leadership goals in order to create high performing teams
10%- PMO Support
Provide timely project updates and track and update project timeline
Support the tracking of project issues and the articulation of mitigation plans
Understand and communicate project dependencies and resulting issues that may arise
10% - Team Support
Demonstrate and promote SPE values of Teamwork, Trust and Innovation
Share best practice across the Finance organization (presentations, templates, approaches)
Organize team building events

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
• BS/BA in related field required, MBA and/or other Masters in related fields preferred
• 5+years work experience required; combination of consulting and internal roles preferred
• Entertainment or related industry experience preferred
• Ability to travel internationally
• ERP experience (SAP, Workday, Ariba) a plus
• Must have deployed communications for at least one large scale implementation

Knowledge of:
• Knowledge of communication planning and organizational change management methodologies
• Knowledge of basic SAP and Ariba (general navigation, modul)
