Experis is working with an industry leading OEM in MN experiencing tremendous growth on a Direct Hire Sr. Chief Engineer role which would have overall Engineering leadership for a couple key product lines. Candidates must have a B.S. (M.S./MBA preferred) in Engineering along with 10-15+ years of increasing responsibilities as an Engineer/Engineering Manager in an OEM. Experience in the automotive/truck, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or other related industries would be strong preferred. This position will require strong strategic leadership experience and a diverse background within design, reliability, quality, and Lean/Six Sigma.

Overall responsibility for management of engineering teams working on new product development projects. Direct high level engineering analysis, design, build, test, and launch of new and modified components, subsystems, and vehicles

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Plan, assign, and track assignments for new product analysis, design, build, test, and launch activities in coordination with the Test, Sustaining, Controls, R&D Shop and cross-functional business teams.
2.Plan, assign, and track assignments for current product engineer-to-order (ETO) or cost reduction activities in coordination with the Test, Sustaining, Controls, R&D Shop and cross-functional business teams.
3.Coordinate development of CNG systems for current products, new products and the multi-year technology strategy for CNG systems in concert with subject matter experts and at suppliers.
4.Participate in the annual and monthly budgeting process to include forecasting of expenses to support assigned projects and recommending capital improvements and preparing justification data as required.
5.Direct on-site team members and external off-site or off-shore contractors in daily duties and evaluate their performance bi-annually.
6.Lead recruiting and training of all team members to meet performance and continuous improvement goals.
7.Coordinate internal and externally-sourced computer aided engineering analysis (FEA, MBD, CFD activities in coordination with the Test, Sustaining, Controls, and other NPD teams
8.Research, study, and propose use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products
9.Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
10.Review and approve designs for performance, safety, reliability, cost, and resources required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors of Science in Engineering
12-plus years related experience
Prior supervisory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Engineering or MBA
15-plus years related experience including heavy duty vehicle development or large welded structures development
5-plus years technical team supervisory/lead experience
5-plus years product development project management experience utilizing a phase gate method
5-plus years product test experience
5-plus years hydraulic system experience
5-plus years of CAE tools experience (FEA, MBD)
5-plus years of CAD solid modeling and detailing experience (SolidWorks, ProE, Catia, UG/NX)
5-plus years of PDM or PLM experience (Enovia/SmarTeam, Teamcenter, Windchill, ePDM)
PMP certification
Demonstrated expertise in process improvement tools (DFMA, Lean, DFSS)
