Vice President - Production Finance - HBO - Los Angeles

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Vice President of Production Finance oversees the Production Finance department which is responsible for the individual show accounting for all HBO original programming. Responsible for hiring highly talented freelance accountants for HBO’s productions. Manage a staff of 10 who oversee show accountants, an internal budgeting group, and staff accountants.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production of timely and accurate show budgets, cost reporting, and daily hot costs for all HBO productions.
Oversee all post production accounting and corresponding 3rd party accountants.
Create and maintain great relationships in the freelance accounting community to ensure the hiring and supervision of HBO’s production accounting teams.
Ensure the freelance teams adhere to HBO’s production controls and procedures.
Work closely with HBO production executives and show producers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all shows in production and development.
Work closely with Corporate Finance & Planning in assisting with the quarterly close and long term planning process.
Oversee the application, filing, and coordination of Production Tax incentives.
Evaluate internal Oracle production accounting database.

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidate will have to have a deep understanding of production accounting and budgeting. Previous show accountant / controller a plus.
Extensive understanding of Guild, Union & PH&W requirements.
Multi camera episodic television experience highly desirable.
International production accounting experience a plus.
Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
Strong managerial skills.
