We are looking for a Director, Content and User Experience, to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team. The ideal candidate has a passion for and in-depth knowledge of the content marketplace. This role will influence the decision-making behind how we deploy our rapidly growing content budget. You will work closely with Hulu’s CFO and Content Acquisition team to ensure the continued success of Hulu’s content directives and to optimize our spend. In your role you will be standing at the front lines of the online video world and playing an integral part in the direction it is headed.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead a team of analysts that cover:
Reporting on content traffic, consumption and deal performance
Performing prospective deal valuations – analyzing the cost and return of licensing new media content
Tracking actual performance of content acquisitions and projecting future performance and recoupment
Producing metrics reports and performing data analytics to better understand user behavior, viewing habits and content performance
Partner with content acquisition team and work collaboratively with other internal finance and accounting teams
Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly updates, and five year plan in the content area
Manage and update the data base of Hulu’s arsenal of fixed content deals for reporting and planning
Together with the CFO and Head of Content, develop and refine a framework for analyzing and prioritizing content acquisitions
Lead and manage diverse, ad hoc projects as required
Desired Skills and Experience
8 to 10 years of finance or content valuation experience
Experience in licensing content or financial planning related to content
Exceptional analytical abilities and strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP and basic accounting understanding
Ability to work quickly and efficiently while executing with atypically high standards of quality
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast pace environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to learn quickly
Strong work ethic and management skills
Education
Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Economics
MBA at a leading Business School preferred but not required
