Job Summary
Researching trends and technologies for possible inclusion into the global company strategy. Work with customers, suppliers, business leaders, consultants, and industry experts to gather necessary inputs to the creative process. Work with finance and business leaders for necessary business plans and marketing collateral. Run a team of Capability Managers that drive roadmapped capabilities into realized usable technology elements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary responsible for creation and managing the companies Capabilities Roadmap. This includes harvesting existing capability, researching new capability, and analyzing trends to predict what strategic capabilities will be needed in the future.
Capability Roadmaps, Research trends, setting agenda for Innovations sessions. Maintaining a healthy relationship with sales and business folks to further guide path.
Ability to weed through vast amounts of data and recognize patterns that could signify significant trends in our industry that could prove a competitive advantage. Ability to review this data with the companies value network and culture in mind.
Ability to work with disparate company divisions to harvest information – promoting a sharing environment. Application of key technology trends to Jabil’s value system.
Being curious and inquisitive. Understanding technology in multiple forms from concept to products. Has an engineering mindset. Logically disciplined.
Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
Manages the customer relationship road map from a strategic relationship perspective.
Demonstrated strategic capability to look beyond the customer and understand the end market and industry.
Owns the execution of operational SLA delivery and escalations.
Exhibits demonstrated successful relationship-building skills with highest-level audiences at more strategic and senior levels within the customer’s organization and within Jabil.
Manages the performance, developments, and rewards for direct reports. Indirectly manages work of others through Jabil’s Workcell business model.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: CTO’s, SVP’s, VP’s of operational activity.
Job is directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management). Job title example(s) of employees directly supervised: BD Project/Program Managers; Capability Managers, Customer Service Administrators.
Excellent communication skills.
Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of global business awareness/experience (e.g., taxation, laws, culture).
Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of operational functions (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, etc.).
Extensive knowledge of total Jabil solutions available for offer.
Strong financial skill knowledge and aptitude (e.g. balance sheet and income statement).
Jabil tools (Financial system, quote process, etc.).
Advanced contract and negotiation knowledge/experience at a more strategic level.
Leadership/people-management skills.
Strong customer service skills and experience.
Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
Strong and convincing communication skills.
Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
Bachelor's Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
Degree in Engineering, Finance/Accounting, or Business Management preferred.
Eight (8) to ten (10) years work-related experience required, preferably in Engineering or Technology Field
Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
