Job description
8x8 is looking for a Director of Technical Programs to ensure the successful delivery of major product
releases and other strategic cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess top-notch
program management skills, solid technical skills and knowledge, and feel comfortable working in
a hands-on, fast-paced, highly technical environment. The Director of Technical Programs will be
responsible for planning, scheduling and driving programs across multiple engineering teams, product
management, and other company functions to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery, to effectively
identify and manage program risks, and to provide executive level visibility to overall program status.
The successful candidate must have a strong passion for building innovative products, enabling new
market pursuits, and playing to win.

Desired Skills and Experience
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an overall program management methodology
Coordinate with Engineering, QA and Operations to oversee all software releases into production environment
Negotiate, define, communicate and manage the scope of each project and required resources/timelines
Develop, maintain and effectively execute project plans throughout project lifecycle
Define and manage project estimates, working with project teams to develop initial estimates and to manage time/cost against those estimates
Create and maintain project schedules including activity definition, sequence, dependencies,work effort, duration and associated resource requirements
Forecast, track and manage project budgets and expenses
Define, negotiate, communicate, implement and monitor quality standards on all project deliverables
Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks throughout project lifecycle and proposal/estimating phases.
Manage internal and external expectations inline with project critical success factors
As company needs expand, build a team of program management professionals to manage an expanded portfolio of programs
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Program Manager managing major product development and engineering initiatives
Strong knowledge of and project management experience with current agile development methodologies
Strong technical background in software development; familiarity with VoIP and telephony technologies helpful
Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional product teams within budgetary and schedule constraints
Knowledge of Project Management principles, methods and techniques
Knowledge of software/internet development lifecycle
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and action-oriented
Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
BA/BS in Engineering or technical field required. MS or MBA highly desired.
