Director - QA and DevOps - Barracuda Networks - Campbell


Job description
Barracuda Networks is looking for a Director of QA and DevOps to work on our award-winning Content Security solutions. You will be working on the data path portion of the products involving SMTP/HTTP protocols and help deliver high performance, high accuracy content filtering software releases.

Responsibilities:
- Execute engineering projects by removing barriers to success; ensuring others have the information, training, resources, and implementation time needed to succeed
- Monitor and review project progress against timeline; Develop and communicate logical, convincing justifications, including lessons learned, to build commitment and support. Drive towards a "zero surprises" goal.
- Minimize customer impact (e.g. email delivery failure) due to applications systems issues by ensuring high quality using quality standards; measure such failures and perform root cause analysis; publishing results; and developing future prevention plan
- Drive continuous process improvement and innovation by identifying inefficiencies in current processes; improving agility of the team; and adopting industry trends for innovation.
- Ensure product quality by developing and executing quality assurance plan; using data and experience to determine customer needs; directing continuous improvement and eliminating non-value-added work; driving measuring milestones for quality; and developing mitigation plans to ensure quality.
- Provide 24 hours coverage on mission critical production services which has direct impact to content security customers; Achieving this by building tools, processes and allocate resources inside/outside the DevOps team

Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years experience testing and operating scalable business applications delivered using SaaS and/or appliances
- 5+ years experience in a leadership role with direct responsibility to manage and build highly effective teams
- Exposure to Cloud server environments such as Amazon Web Services, EC2, OpenStack or Cloud Foundry
- Hands-on experience with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Juju, Puppet or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with PaaS and SaaS technologies.
- Hands-on experience with QA automation systems such as Selenium and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
- Hands-on experience with 24x7 network/system operations and scaling of web servers and application servers,
- Scripting in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Perl
- Deep knowledge of automation systems including software deployment and release management processes
- Experience in High Availability Network design and delivery of fault tolerant cloud services;
- Exposure to SIEM products to provide overall system health/security monitoring and attack prevention
