Director - Product Line Management - Chargers - Flextronics - San Jose
Job description
Purpose:
The Director of Product Line Management will have the responsibility to define, communicate and execute Product Line strategies including P&L ownership. This role will include both strategic and tactical decision making impacting revenue and profit results for the Charger Product Line.
In developing and growing the business, this position will address new issues and opportunities both internal and external to Flextronics. Accountabilities and decisions will have high visibility to the executive team as this role will be involved in key customer negotiations and product developments for the largest segment of the $1B Flextronics Power Products group. The Director role is an essential member of the Product Line leadership team reporting to the Vice President of Product Line Management and Marketing
P&L ownership - accountable to consistently meet or exceed defined targets. Drive Product Line strategies from concept to reality.
Principle Accountabilities/Duties:
Manage all product life cycles including concept, business plan, project approval, marketing, manufacturing, product go-to-market plans, customer support, product obsolescence, etc.
Improve profitability and growth with a compelling roadmap of product solutions based on customer feedback, market intelligence and own expertise.
Deliver sufficient technical depth and competence to work with all functional teams in developing product roadmaps with stretch targets that can be executed.
Closely engage customers to understand their problems and how to best solve them.
Drive product marketing from inception through execution including positioning, messaging, content development, and determination of optimal portfolio and channel mix
Enable the go-to-market plan by supporting and training the sales team to understand product positioning, key benefits, target customers, etc.
Provide facts-based competitive analysis to insure that offerings provide superior capabilities when compared to the competition, and are more effective than competitors’ products at meeting and anticipating the needs of the customer.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with Operations, Technology, Product Development, Finance and Business Development teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
10+ years in Marketing and Product Line Management roles with proven track record of profitable revenue growth
5+ years P&L responsibility for power supply or power semiconductor product lines
REQUIRED Basic Qualifications (must have skills):
3+ years PLM experience for server, storage and networking power products.
Possess a unique blend of business and technical acumen, incredible persistence and a disciplined process-driven approach.
DNA of teamwork and able to push priorities forward constructively, even when under pressure.
Ability to inspire, convince and motivate others including those outside of direct reporting lines.
A sense of urgency and desire to do the right thing on time.
A natural leader with superior communication and presentation skills with a love of owning the product and communicating its value to the marketplace, both inside and outside of the company.
Unquestionable integrity and ethics and a track record of open communication.

Attention to detail and orientation to data driven decision-making
Is able to think fast and learn / recover quickly from failures
PREFERRED Qualifications (nice to have skills):
Strong capability to translate, distil and anticipate customer needs into technically complex consumer offerings.
History working with manufacturing and development teams in Asia.
Ability to speak Mandarin a plus
Education or Training:
Electrical Engineering degree, MBA
