As the Director of Corporate Payroll you will be responsible for managing all activities associated with the efficient and effective operation of the Payroll Services Department. Administers company policies and procedures. Coordinate, develop, direct and execute projects with IS, Legal, Finance and HR. Prepare quarterly account reconciliations. Train, or facilitate training, for new and existing employees. Maintain and process all records for highly compensated employees. Processing of a weekly payroll for over 16,000 employees nationwide, the manager will lead a large team of professionals to ensure the highest quality standards and performance objectives are achieved
Responsibilities
Manages the personnel in the payroll department including selection, training, performance management, and discipline.
Coordinates process improvement and project management
Manages the preparation, distribution and reporting processes for payroll.
Oversees the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
Establishes policies and procedures for the payroll function
Ensures that payments and government reports are distributed timely and accurately.
Performs system testing on Lawson payroll system
Process payroll for highly compensated employees
Prepares quarterly account reconciliations
Responsible for overseeing the timely completion of Health & Welfare, Pension, and Dues reporting for union locals.
Responsible for the audit and payment of all company travel and expense submissions.
Qualifications
7+ years of payroll experience or accounting background or a combination of education and work experience in a mid-high volume multi-state environment
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent professional experience preferred
5+ supervisory experience
Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Certified Payroll Professional Certification preferred
Experience in Oracle, Lawson, Hyperion, Tax Factory preferred
