Job description
Star Media Group, a Gannett company, is seeking a Director of Marketing. This individual will be a key member of Star Media’s leadership team and is responsible for leading business-to-business marketing strategy, new business development, and B2B market research. The position will be accountable for supporting Star Media’s efforts to drive advertising revenue by providing marketing solutions that help local businesses succeed. Leads a team of Marketing Strategists (4), Research Analyst, and B2B Marketing Coordinator to provide strategic account planning, maintain robust lead generation pipelines, position Star Media as a leading provider of multi-media solutions, grow market share through leveraging digital portfolio, and provide insightful and actionable summaries of market conditions, share trends, and customer insights. The Marketing Director will work in close collaboration with Advertising Sales, Client Services, Consumer Marketing and Digital departments and will participate in presentations to both external and internal customers. The position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities:
The Marketing Director must possess strong leadership capabilities, technical marketing & research skills, and solid sales management understanding. In addition, responsibilities include:

Excellent communication skills. Effective presentation development and delivery skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
Technical B2B marketing skills, including expertise in digital marketing/media, market research principles and techniques. Proficient in advertising media planning.
Demonstrated strategic capabilities, strong analytical skills and the ability to think conceptually.
Adept at project management including ability to manage multiple projects, developing clear and attainable timelines, ability to effectively identify and resolve process related issues. Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Ability to resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field. MBA preferred.
At least ten years of marketing, sales and/or business development experience.
At least three years of management experience.
Advertising agency experience or working with advertising agencies a plus.
