Job description
The Enterprise Services & Financial Systems (ESFS) group is a part of the Chief Financial Officer’s organization within Enterprise Financial Management. This position reports to the VP of Financial Systems Infrastructure and involves setting up the IT Infrastructure and the supporting processes for the Corporate Actuarial IT area. The candidate will be expected to partner with the management of the Corporate Actuarial IT function to set up an Enterprise-wide Actuarial solution. The candidate must have 5+ years of managing Actuarial or similar grid-based computing infrastructure with an understanding of Hybrid (private/public) Cloud computing methodologies and workload management. Some understanding of Insurance and/or Annuity actuarial modeling would be preferable. Strong communication and analytical skills are required as the actuarial solutions in the various businesses are analyzed to determine the requirements needed to build and manage a consolidated grid computing platform. The candidate will also manage the relationship with the Corporate Technology and Information Security areas when evaluating and implementing a consolidated grid computing strategy.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Bachelors degree required preferably in Computer Science, Electrical / Computer Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience working in an IT function and at least 3 years managing a grid computing platform
• Thorough understanding of all considerations in setting up a cloud-based grid
• Familiarity with tools and technologies associated with actuarial modeling a plus
• Knowledge of annuities and/or life products, preferred
• An understanding of the process of software design, development and implementation following the systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with teams across multiple businesses
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
