Vice President, Technology (PMO)

Audible.com is a pioneer of and leader in digital spoken word audio and a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com. We are a successful, digital media brand operating autonomously within the Amazon family while leveraging the Amazon brand, assets to bring the spoken word audio genre to mainstream globally.
We are looking for a technically strong, passionately customer focused, results-oriented leader to be an integral contributor to and lead from front our Technology Program Management function. Our TPMs thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused, high-judgment results-oriented setting. They anticipate bottlenecks to delivering high quality media solutions via technology; they balance business needs versus technical constraints to move projects forward quickly. We are looking for seasoned people leader to provide credible and strong leadership to such successful, independently operating individuals. The individual should be able to craft a vision for a successful cross-functional TPMO setting, communicate such a vision and lead the team to deliver on such a vision.
Key job functions:
Hire and develop the best talent in technology centric program management
Define setup, communicate and run the framework successfully operating a TPM team in a matrix manner.
Demonstrated ability in successfully working with Technical and non-Technical stakeholders
Product roadmaps: Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Business owners/stakeholders and Technical leadership teams to drive prioritized roadmap development and operating development projects to those roadmaps.
Anticipate bottlenecks for project delivery and work in mitigating/resolving them in a high-judgment fashion.
Justify/rationalize new initiatives with right tradeoffs
Help define and scoping of projects by working closely with product owners, product managers and GMs of business to understand their needs and priorities along with internal and competitive information into clear, prioritized requirements.
Basic Qualifications
12+ years of experience managing full life-cycle technical projects or programs of an increasingly large and complex scale in a related industry
5+ years leading technology oriented teams in software development/project delivery
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline required or equivalent work experience
Experience leading/managing software development efforts in, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
Ability to effectively manage relationships at all levels including C-level at Audible
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and understand constraints in both customer and business terms
Ability to establish credibility and work with key internal partners to get things done
Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project
Driving user story brainstorming, review, and clarification sessions with software and quality engineering teams to deliver maximum customer value with available time constraints and resources
Working with internal teams and customers to perform deep data driven analysis of businesses to surface actionable insights and product requirements
Management and delivery of projects with the highest levels of performance, reliability, usability and customer delight.
Additional business management/related degree a strong plus.
Experience developing software using current web technology and languages a plus
