Director - Front of Site Design - GoDaddy - Kirkland

Job description
The Front of Site Design Director’s role is to ensure the highest quality deliverables from the Design Team, including internal (FTE/contractor) and external (agency/vendor) resources, and to serve as the voice of that standard across the organization. This is a manager of managers. This leadership role requires articulating a strong vision for the Team, socializing work and thought leadership, and most critically of all, serving as the voice of UX / Design leadership across online and mobile overarching strategic vision and business-driven initiatives.

In this role, you will:
Lead the development of design; combining strategy, research, experience design, creative content and technology;
Lead initiatives for developing and refining design best practices and processes; communicate plans and outcomes at a cross-disciplinary level;
Partner with Managers, Leads, Directors and Studio Director to attract and retain the best designers;
Mentor, inspire, and provide support to other designers on projects and career paths;
Mentor and provide support for individual members of the creative team and serves as advocate for the Creative team and its vision to senior leadership team;
In collaboration with Managers, Leads, Directors and Studio Director, Delivery Team and others, define and refine processes and practices with regards to user research, design planning, and usability studies;
Partner with Studio Mangers on team utilization, realization, expenditure and staffing issues;
Continually explore opportunities to enhance, improve, and expand methodologies and deliverables;
Continually enhance knowledge of the design industry and competitive landscape
Partnership across a matrix’ed organization

Ability to mentor and foster learning and excellence among team members.
Strong design portfolio with 4+ years education, 5+ years design and interactive work experience
Experience leading a team of designers, production specialists and writers to creative excellence.
Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
