Description / Responsibilities
The Desktop Client Platforms (DCP) group is responsible for a significant percentage of Intel’s $34B in PC revenue. And Desktop is growing - DT had its highest revenue year in many years in 2013. DCP’s strategy is to keep this tremendous revenue foundation growing for Intel by reinventing the desktop in growth segments. Desktop has changed from the “old beige” box to many new form factors including All in One PC’s, (where the PC is entirely built into the sleek, thin, space-saving HD touch screen), mini-desktops (very small ~4”x4”x1” boxes that enable computing anywhere from manufacturing floor to home theaters to thin clients), enthusiast PCs (gaming, content creation) and new emerging usages such as a home hub/ home cloud. There are 2 segment director positions within desktop, one is focused on AIO, the other covers all other desktop segments. This role is the second one, it covers all desktop segments except AIO and is responsible for the segments that generate many $B’s in revenue.

The Director of Desktop Segment Strategy is responsible defining the objectives, strategies and plans to grow desktop across the varying segments, including enthusiasts, mini-desktop, home hub/cloud, entry, first time buyer, and others. Responsibilities include defining the opportunity and developing and inventing new usages for these segments and executing this plan across Intel, OEM customers, and partners. The deliverables will include the strategy and plans, creating holistic solutions (from hardware to software) to be delivered by Intel or our customers/ partners, value propositions, marketing content and collateral, marketing and sales programs, and everything required to make these segments successful and grow. This individual will lead a team and collaborate across marketing, engineering and sales. The position reports into the Vice President and GM of the Desktop Client Platforms Group (DCP).

Qualifications/Experience
The successful candidate should enter this role drawing upon a solid track-record of developing and leading strategies and organizations, delivering multiple complex innovative products consistently to POR, and have a high level of strategic and business acumen, including working closely with senior managers at customers and partners. Key skills include organization development, leadership communications, technical acumen, business and strategic acumen, financial accountability and investment judgment, and PC client market and technology expertise. Must have a passion and energy to drive this business forward and lead and inspire the organization. 20+ years of industry experience relevant to and including:

- Knowledge of client platform hardware and software, architecture, technologies, marketing, and systems
- Knowledge of digital home technologies, architecture, marketplace, business, and players
- Knowledge of client marketplace, business and players
- Experience leading large organizations
- High customer orientation and track record of winning designs
- Breadth of experience in products and marketing
- Accountability, credibility with employees, management, stakeholders, and customers
- Senior stakeholder management, including experience working across functional and organizational boundaries
- Senior level decision making and influencing skills
