Director - Consumer Research & Insights - Provide Commerce - San Diego
Job description
As a robust portfolio of 8 e-commerce, online retail brands, Provide Commerce is looking for a Director, Consumer Research & Insights. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering consumer insights to the organization, both by providing a corporate consumer centric view of our diverse customers and by providing support to research needs of each business unit. You will be instrumental in shaping change within the organization as we move to more of a consumer-centric business model. In this role, you will use primary, secondary, syndicated and other research sources to help drive the organization, and achieve the growth goals of each business unit by providing meaningful and actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and lead corporate Consumer Insight initiatives such as Brand Awareness, attitudinal segmentation, Net Promoter Score, etc.
Consult with business units to identify research needs and requirements to support their goals
Develop research methodologies, write proposals, design survey questionnaires, analyze survey results and present findings and recommendations from research
Provide insight to business units through primary and secondary research, syndicated sources and other internal or external analysis, resulting in actionable business solutions
Manage supplier selection, activity and work to ensure focused, cost efficient, accurate and timely completion of projects
Keep abreast of the latest research techniques and emerging consumer insight practices, especially in non-traditional areas
Develop and manage market research budget
Manage, develop and train direct report on Consumer Insights team
Partner with internal customer intelligence, marketing analytics and other teams to provide thought leadership on an overall view of the customer
Other duties as assigned from time to time
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Qualifications:
4 year college education
7-10+ years in research, experience with e-Commerce, CPG or Retail a plus
Hands on experience managing external vendors
Ability to drive advocacy for consumer insights within an organization
Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders: executive leadership, marketing, operations, and external partners
Experience with presentation software and applications
Ability to travel (less than 20%)
