Director - Consumer Insights - Fidelity Investments - Providence
Job description
As part of the Personal Investing (PI) organization, the Customer Knowledge and Strategic Insight (CKSI) group sheds light on investor behavior and attitudes to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. We are looking for a dynamic, strategic thinker who can uncover game-changing insights and package and present them in a way that compels the organization to act on them.
Reporting to the VP, Segment Insights, the Director of Consumer Insights is tasked with delivering research and insights that drive consumer-based strategies and tactics to help the organization accelerate growth. S/He will support the Segment Team in helping to foster a consumer-centric culture across the organization and will work closely with this team to identify research needs, conduct research, integrate results with other research and analytic findings, and develop recommendations.
Primary Responsibilities
This role will lead key marketing research efforts across the segment team working closely with business partners to develop strategies and tactics based on the work, to include:
Segmentation and targeting
Positioning
Customer experience
Value proposition (products, price, solutions, channels, communications)
Personalization
S/He will be tasked with enhancing research and insight capabilities and will work with the rest of CKSI to continually improve the capabilities of the department
Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
BA/BS required, MBA preferred
10+ years of relevant consumer insight and strategy experience
Financial Services experience a plus
Skills and Knowledge
Expertise with key Marketing Research techniques including: segmentation, attitude and usage studies, positioning research, and customer experience research
Proven success uncovering meaningful insights from research
The ability to take the insights from various pieces of consumer research and weave them together with other internal and external information to develop strategies for the organization allowing it to achieve aggressive growth targets
Ability to structure and deliver presentations clearly, crisply, and compellingly. Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to champion recommendations and influence decisions at all levels of management
Experience defining the scope and issues for research/analytic initiatives, developing and executing project plans and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, experience leading cross-functional project teams
Strategic thinking and thought leadership as well as strong collaboration, communication and influencing skills are critical
