Director - Strategic Marketing - Farydak - Novartis Oncology - New York


Job description
Director - Strategic Marketing has primary accountability for developing and implementing a cross-disease commercial strategy for Farydak

He or she is a core member of the Global Program Team (GPT), functionally reporting into the Global Disease Leader Multiple Myeloma.

Major accountabilities :

Act as the commercial lead for the Farydak in the Global Program Team and ensure team alignment across diseases.

Provides commercial and strategic leadership to ensure brand integrity across indications such as cross-indication branding, pricing, safety messaging and pharmacovigilance.

Responsible for shaping and supporting the overall brand and development strategy for Farydak in order to optimize brand lifecycle:
- develop the cross-indication component of the global strategic plan (Cx)
- contribute to the Global Development Program Strategy (GDPS) and Clinical Development Plan (CDP)
- evaluate the commercial potential of diseases under consideration and of new formulations and provide recommendations to GPT and management boards

Facilitate and monitor the local implementation of the commercial component of the Farydak Risk Management Program

Liaise with the Global Therapeutics Integrity team in the development and implementation of loss of exclusivity and brand integrity plans.

Works with Global Supply Chain Management on forecasting and assist them to ensure proper manufacturing, packaging or distribution of Farydak.

Assist the development team by planning and executing activities to drive patient accrual for key trials

Consults with Regional commercial and medical management to ensure that their input is represented in the GPT and kept aware of key decisions.

Demonstrate strong leadership and strategic skills, ability to work in a cross functional and matrix organization, and have a good understanding of drug development

Desired Skills and Experience
University degree in Medicine, Biological or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
An advanced degree in bioscience, and/or business is a plus (e.g., MD, Pharm. D., PhD., MBA)

•Strong science and business background - at least 12 years of pharma strategic marketing
•Excellent understanding of Oncology market - at least 5 years of oncology marketing experience
•Extensive contact with Oncology/Hematology Medical experts
•Proven ability to operate and influence cross-functionally and cross culturally
•Proven leadership ability in a similar/comparable organization
•Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
•Oncology product development and commercial experience
•Significant experience in launching new products preferred
