Director - US Marketing - Mentor - Johnson & Johnson - Irvine
The Director, US Marketing - Mentor is responsible for leading the US Commercial Marketing team for Mentor. This individual will lead development of strategic and tactical professional and consumer marketing plans, monitor key performance indicators, leverage in-house expertise and work with external agencies and other vendors to deliver superior marketing results. This individual will also work collaboratively with the leaders of Sales and Customer Service to create a superior overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities Include
Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
Oversees the organization's advertising and promotion activities including selling materials, print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
Is responsible for the financial performance of all US Commercial product lines, accountable for sales numbers in the US
Drives the business together with the US Sales Leadership Team and other members of the WW Marketing Organization to achieve company objectives
Develop financial models supporting New Product Development Opportunities, taking into consideration regional variations & various stages of market maturity
Collaborate with Business Intelligence for all competitive intelligence and competitive information related to the product portfolio.
Analyzes competitive products and incorporates competitive strategies into product development plans.
Oversees delivery of product training at US launch training programs.
Responsible for assembling all necessary programs and resources to meet or exceed top line objectives.
Places special attention on tactical execution, especially as it relates to new product launches and field force effectiveness programs.
Develops Business Planning forecasts recommendations (and manages demand for US region).
Writes US Marketing Plan to deliver on BP numbers.
Develops market-appropriate tools and demand generation programs to drive growth in the US and gain market share.
Provides VOC to NPD/BD groups to influence portfolio prioritization.
Supports field proactively with on-going customer-facing activities and field presence
Spearheads the development of the US Commercial Channel Strategy as it relates to Hospital and Private Practice Channels.
Develops close working relationships with US customers in both hospital and private practices to understand and anticipate their needs

Develops account segmentation and account targeting strategies. Influences strategy, resource allocation and prioritization
Assists in rolling out US-wide field force effectiveness programs to ensure proficiency of Mentor field force and continued education for maximum field effectiveness.
Develops and manages national and local programs or initiatives that are aligned to the US business plan and lead to achievement of annual revenue plans in the US market
Create and execute downstream marketing plans that increase US market share.
Develops and recommends overall portfolio pricing strategy by product and channel (Hospital, Private Practice, IDN / GPO).
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to preset standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.
Ensures effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievements of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.
Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent. Masters Degree preferred
Minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience in the healthcare arena is required
Up to 30% travel required including weekends to attend conferences and events is required
Extensive in-line brand management experience, marketing plan leadership and product launch experience is required
Experience establishing, enrolling others and achieving vision and objectives for multiple brands through a demonstrated track record leading highly matrixed, cross-functional work teams comprised of high-level managers and executives
A proven track-record of high level skill in analysis, financial acumen and franchise management
Previous team management is required
Technical knowledge of Aesthetics marketplace
Successful management in one or more of the following: marketing, sales or customer service
Extensive experience in developing and implementing yearly business plans which include defining of marketing goals, strategies and tactics
Ability to travel domestically as needed or requested
Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and oral English communication skills
