Position Overview:
North American seeks a customer-focused, experienced Sales Director with excellent leadership capability for its NVISION business. Located at North American’s headquarters in Glenview, Illinois, and reporting to the Vice President, Sales and Operations, the Sales Director will be charged with leading an account team of approximately 20 direct and indirect reports, with a portfolio of $35-45mm in sales.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
The successful candidate will provide effective and energetic leadership to the NVISION account team to drive sales, maintain and increase profit, margin, and customer satisfaction.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Setting sales plans, budgets, objectives, strategies and initiatives to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the business unit, and ensure the maximum sales volume and maximum direct margin contribution.
Recruiting, developing, coaching and retaining staff to effectively support key customer relationships. Provide effective performance management via the establishment of objectives, measurement and feedback relative to those performance objectives.
Providing day-to-day leadership and direction to Account Managers in maintaining and expanding customer relationships and meeting revenue and margin goals within the business unit. Develop strong customer relationships directly with key strategic accounts. Assist in prospecting, developing, and closing new account sales.
Proactively identifying and effectively addressing operational issues/challenges that negatively affect business performance.
Ensuring inventory levels are appropriate and monthly expenses and billing are handled in a timely manner. Manage staff to focus on and deliver asset management and return on capital performance requirements.
Assisting the VP of Sales and Operations in developing business strategy and key business initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited university in a relevant field, such as business or marketing. MBA is a plus.
Proven ability to develop, maintain and grow key customer relationships at the C-suite level.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, coach and retain talented sales professionals. Proven success in leading account teams.
Demonstrated leadership talent, with the ability to motivate all levels of employees by virtue of keen business acumen, excellent judgment, professional competence, credibility, flexibility, and personal integrity. Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with employees at all levels.
Strong ability to execute against strategy, with an eye towards cost-effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Proven success in managing, organizing and/or completing multiple tasks and priorities.
Creativity and resourcefulness, with a bias toward well-informed action. Strong problem solving ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with technology (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications, Web-based technologies).
