Director - Product Marketing - Animoto - NoHo

Role
As Director of Product Marketing, you’ll be at the center of everything. You’ll know our product, customers, and competitors inside and out. You’ll be working for the Head of Marketing (and co-founder), talented designers, and copywriters to construct a powerful message that ultimately sells the product. You’ll create positioning and messaging strategies that you’ll then carry through to completion. And you’ll have a lot of fun working hard with a great team of motivated people!

We want someone obsessed with figuring out how to distill a product down to its essence, someone who can communicate simply and clearly, someone driven by quality, someone with a passion for, and detailed understanding of, exquisite product marketing on web and mobile. We also want someone who is obsessed with testing, and who loves using data to inform decisions.
Responsibilities
General Management of Animoto’s Product Marketing group. Set annual goals, performance metrics, budget requirements and team priorities.
Refine and re-establish Animoto’s product positioning and messaging strategy, including “voice” and visual design.
Develop a product pipeline and execute go-to-market plans for new products and features and on-site targeted and seasonal product promotions.
Structure and oversee multivariate testing plans that optimize pricing and packaging and improve on-site conversion.
Work with product managers and customer owners to conduct market, user, and competitor research.
Measure and report on the effectiveness of your initiatives.
Manage and direct the creation of new product-marketing content for web and mobile, including:
In-depth visualizations and demonstrations of product features
Galleries of video styles/themes
Targeted use-case content for customer verticals
Example videos that demonstrate features and use-cases.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
7+ years’ experience in brand management or product marketing.
Experience managing direct reports and cross-functionals.
Strong awareness of product-marketing best practices (SEO, responsive design, optimization through split and multivariate testing, etc).
Passion for a strong brand.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A detail- and schedule-oriented nature. (You will ship stuff.)
An eye for great design.
An ear for great copy.
A nose for fishy marketing jargon.
Bonus points
MBA.
Experience at a top-tier brand company.
Experience at startups.
Experience with SaaS models.
